Fabulous Fourth celebration in Memorial Park

Tens of thousands of people packed memorial park for the annual “Fabulous Fourth” celebration.

While fireworks are illegal in Colorado Springs, the free show was worth it for the thousands of families who trekked in with the kids to watch.

“It’s definitely worth it. Kids smiles, their face painted, they got their $40 dollar gifts. It’s worth it,” said Nathan Reedy who brought his two sons.

The Colorado Springs Philharmonic warmed up the crowd until dusk, then accompanied the fireworks that lasted around 15 minutes.
