Severe thunderstorm warning issued for much of El Paso County

A severe thunderstorm warning has been issued for much of El Paso County until 5:45 p.m.

The warning includes southeastern Colorado Springs, Fountain, Calhan, Schriever AFB, Fort Carson, Peyton, Security-Widefield, Cimarron Hills, Falcon, Peterson Air Force Base, Stratmoor and Yoder.

Quarter size hail and wind gusts to 60 mph are possible.

Flooding of dry creek beds, ditches and intersections will also be possible.

A flood advisory has been issued for southeastern Colorado Springs, Cimarron Hills and Peterson AFB until 7 p.m.
