Driver arrested in deadly I-25 crash in El Paso County
One man was arrested in connection to a deadly crash on I-25 and North Academy in El Paso County Sunday.
State Patrol said Anthony Ronzo, 58, of Erie, Colorado faces charges of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence of drugs
It happened around midnight Sunday. State Patrol said Ronzo lost control of his SUV while driving south on I-25. The vehicle then rolled near the North Academy exit.
The passenger was killed. State Patrol said she is a 30-year-old from Denver and was not wearing her seat belt.
Ronzo was hurt and treated at an area hospital. After he was released, he was taken into custody.
State Patrol said prescription drug use is considered to be a factor in the crash, but it is under investigation.
