Bicyclist fighting for life after Colorado Springs accident

A man suffered life-threatening injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Colorado Springs Monday (6/9/14) night.

Police said it happened around 9:30 p.m. Monday near Palmer Park Boulevard and Columbia Street.

Police said a man on a bicycle heading north on North Meade Avenue ran a stop sign crossing Palmer Park Boulevard. A vehicle heading east on Palmer Park missed the bicyclist.

But the man swerved onto Columbia Street and was hit by a vehicle heading west, police said.

The man is in the intensive care unit at a local hospital. Police said an investigation is ongoing.
