CSPD says man tried to stab woman

A 54-year-old man was arrested in Colorado Springs after police said he tried to stab a woman Sunday (6/8/14).

Officers received a call around 9:30 p.m. Sunday of a man trying to stab a woman with a knife inside an apartment. Officers said they found blood near an apartment in the 2900 block of Concord Street.

When officers went inside, they found the man with a cut to his neck, after threatening to kill the woman, police said. An investigation showed the man was cut when the woman pushed the knife backwards, into the man’s neck, as he held the knife near her throat, police said.

Ronald Gaskins, 54, was taken to the hospital and treated for the cut. Police said he was then taken into custody on charges of attempted 2nd-degree murder, child abuse, 3rd-degree assault and harassment.
