“Most Wanted” in custody after chase

One of Fremont County’s “Most Wanted” fugitives is behind bars after a chase that lasted close to three hours.

A Fremont County Sheriff’s Deputy spotted Justin Rien leave a home in Penrose at 12:00pm on Monday (5/25.) Rien was wanted on a felony assault/parole violation by Colorado Department of Corrections. He also had a traffic warrant from Colorado State Patrol.

A deputy tried to stop Rien’s truck, but he took off. Deputies say he drove through several fences and ranch gates while trying to get away. He was finally caught by Pueblo Sheriff’s deputies when he pulled onto Highway 96 between Wetmore and Pueblo Reservoir.

Rien will be charged with eluding, trespass and criminal mischief. He is being held in the Fremont County Detention Center on a no bond hold.
