Victim in Security Shooting identified

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of a man who was found shot to death inside a home in Security.

The death of Daniel Baird, 37, has been ruled a homicide.

Michael Malory, 59, is accused of killing Baird.

Malory was arrested on Sunday, May 4, 2014 on suspicion of first degree murder.

Malory’s home, where Baird’s body was found, is located at 1100 Main Street. People who live in the area know the home because it has a large spaceship decoration on the roof.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says it is not ready to release any details about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

This is the first homicide in unincorporated El Paso County in 2014.
