Police arrest man in choking of Longmont neighbor

Police say they have arrested a man suspected of choking his neighbor and taking his cellphone in an unprovoked attack in Longmont.

Police say they found 30-year-old suspect Kurt Jones Thursday morning at his mother’s house in Westminster.

Cmdr. Jeff Satur says Jones faces assault and aggravated robbery charges in the Wednesday morning attack. Police say the 48-year-old neighbor told them he was walking home from work about midnight when the attack occurred.

His injuries were serious but he has been released from the hospital.
