Tests on meatballs after dogs poisoned

Two meatballs suspected of being poisoned have been sent to a laboratory at Colorado State University for chemical testing and another will be tested for human DNA after as many as three dogs were suspected of being poisoned at a Gunbarrel park.

Animal control specialist Sara Spensieri said Tuesday authorities have no leads.

The Boulder Daily Camera reports authorities recovered eight meatballs laced with rat poison from the park since Monday.

Veterinarians are monitoring the three dogs.
