Springs car dealership running into problems because of GM recall

More than two million General Motor vehicles are under recall and it’s causing a backup at a car dealership in Colorado Springs.

Daniels Long Chevrolet has 15 vehicles in its lot waiting to be repaired, but the dealership doesn’t have the parts to fix the faulty ignition system.

Service Manager Bob Pond said when keys weigh down on the ignition switch – it can turn off the vehicle.
Pond said he doesn’t know when the parts will arrive.

The Chevy Cobalt and HHR, the Pontiac G-5 and Solstice, and Saturn’s Ion and Sky are all affected by the recall.

Pond said when the parts do arrive – it won’t take long to fix the problem.

“It takes us about an hour to an hour and a half to fix the problem,” he said.

If your vehicle is affected by the recall, you can leave it at any GM dealership and they will provide you with a rental car.
