Update: Contractor who hit gas line on Garden of the Gods Road faces fine

A contractor who hit a gas line on Garden of the Gods Road Tuesday (3/25/14) will be fined according to Colorado Springs Utilities.

The utility says the contractor was digging for installation of a future cable line.

On Wednesday, Colorado Springs Utilities told KRDO NewsChannel 13’s Scott Harrison that a company called AA Construction was responsible for the broken line.

The utility now says the company involved was called “A and A” and that it is not affiliated with Colorado Springs based AA Construction, Inc.

Colorado Springs Utilities says the area was clearly marked for underground lines.

The broken line was repaired Tuesday night.
