Colorado Springs man arrested for felony kidnapping

Colorado Springs Police said officers arrested a man who tried to kidnap the mother of his children Monday night.

Police said 29-year-old Antwon Yates kidnapped and forced the victim into his vehicle. He then assaulted her as he drove to another location.

The victim was able to escape temporarily, police said. But Yates caught up with her and forced her back into his vehicle and drove to another location.

There, police said the victim was able to escape. Neighbors detained the suspect and contacted police.

Yates faces felony kidnapping and domestic violence charges.
