Snowy stretch continues in southern Colorado

Southern Colorado on Tuesday received at least several inches of snow for the third time in five days and experienced a slick evening rush hour for the second time in that period.

Snow occasionally fell heavily, slowing traffic on Interstate 25 and on major streets and roads, reducing visibility and slowing traffic.

However, drivers seemed to handle the conditions better than they did last Friday when there were numerous crashes and skidding.

As of Tuesday evening, several municipalities were on cold reporting status — meaning that drivers involved in a crash have 72 hours to report it to police if there are no injuries, and drugs or alcohol aren’t involved.

Those municipalities are Colorado Springs, Fountain, El Paso County, Pueblo County and Teller County.
