Avalanche closes US 50 near Monarch Pass

The Colorado State Patrol confirms an avalanche is blocking Highway 50 at mile marker 205 near Monarch Pass.

No one was hurt and no cars were trapped.

The Colorado State Patrol said it planned to reopen the road briefly around 3:30 p.m. and then close it again at 4:30 p.m. for a scheduled avalanche control operation.
