Missing Captain Jack’s hikers found safe
El Paso County search and rescue crews reached two lost hikers west of the Broadmoor Sunday night.
The search for those missing hikers began sometime around 6 p.m.
As of late Sunday night, the rescuers were still trying to bring the pair to safety.
The hikers got lost on Captain Jack’s Trail off of Gold Camp Road. According to a City of Colorado Springs website, its still one of the trails that is closed after massive flash floods in September.
City leaders are asking people to stay off of closed trails because of safety issues tied to the flood and repairs that may still be needed.
