Police: Man shot after robbing Colorado Springs shop

Police say a man is in critical condition after being shot as he left a shop he had just robbed. It happened at Two Whole Sailors on Prospect Street, near Fillmore and I-25. The incident was reported at around 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 22, 2013.

When officers arrived, they found Dustin Williams, 28, shot in the torso. Williams was taken to a nearby hospital to undergo emergency surgery. He is currently in the critical care unit.

Police say Williams threatened the shop owner with a rifle and demanded money. He was shot as he left the shop.

The business owner was not hurt.

Police are still investigating the incident and have not said whether any charges will be filed against the business owner.
