Otero County Woman accused of murder

An Otero County woman is facing murder charges in connection to the death of a man who was reported missing in April of 2013.

Monica Lynnae Martinez is accused of stabbing Jonathan Vinson to death during a fight. Vinson was reported missing on April 27. His remains were found in an agricultural area on May 11.

Martinez is being held at the Bent county Jail on $1,000,000 bond. She’s facing a first degree murder charge.

The Otero County Sheriff’s Office says no other details will be released right now because the investigation is ongoing.
