No criminal charges to be filed against McFadyen

No criminal charges will be filed against Pueblo County Commissioner Liane “Buffie” McFadyen, according to the El Paso County district attorney’s office.

Lee Richards, a spokesperson for the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office, said there is not enough evidence to file charges against McFadyen.

In January, a Pueblo County Sheriff’s deputy found McFadyen and Pueblo County Democratic chair Ron Greenwell sitting in McFadyen’s car. The vehicle was not running. The deputy suspected McFadyen and Greenwell were intoxicated but only gave Greenwell a sobriety test. He registered nearly double the legal limit. The deputy then let them both call for a ride home.

Richards said prosecutors had no roadside tests or chemical tests to evaluate for McFadyen.

Pueblo County district attorney Jeff Chostner forwarded the case to El Paso County to be reviewed.

KRDO-TV contacted McFadyen and Chostner for comment but has not heard back.
