Neighbors say they felt threatened by accused killer

Court documents obtained by KRDO indicate neighbors were concerned about their safety months before Kenneth Lankford allegedly shot three people, killing two, in Black Forest.

In a narrative to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, aneighbor, Linda Buksar,reported threats she said came from Lankford.

The report states “she wanted it reported in case anything happened to her, her family or her dogs.”

Buksarsays back in April, Lankford “became angry with them and others and started shouting and cursing at them.” Lankford was apparently angry after his four American Bulldogs were removed by Animal Control and subsequently euthanized after they had attackedBuksar’s husband, and neighbor Steven Hailes.

Lankford told neighbors that he was going to die since he had cancer and “he’d take care of what he needed to take care of with all his neighbors before he died.”
