Police report spice bust at B Street Smoke Shop

The Colorado Springs Police Department says one person was arrested and synthetic marijuana was recovered after a sting at a smoke shop near Fort Carson. It was part of law enforcement’s efforts to tackle the spice problem in the area.

The bust reportedly happened at the B Street Smoke Shop, 2051 B Street, in El Paso County.

According to police, undercover officers repeatedly purchased synthetic marijuana, or spice, from one employee at the shop. Officers then obtained a search warrant, which was executed by the El Paso County SWAT team.

Colorado Springs Police say 69.28 grams of suspected spice was seized, along with $578 cash.

The staff member who allegedly sold the spice to undercover officers was arrested. Cynthia Sinclair, 56, is facing felony charges. Police say additional arrests are possible.

The case is currently being reviewed by the 4th Judicial District Attorney’s Office.
