Man displaced by El Paso County fire

A home was destroyed by a fire in the Elbert area of northern El Paso County on Thursday, October 17, 2013.

The home where the fire started is located on Teak Place, near Meridian Road and Hodgen Road at the eastern edge of Black Forest.

The fire started just before 10:30 a.m. It was burning out of control when firefighters arrived.

Firefighters say the man who lived in the home was at work when the fire started.

Firefighters from Peyton, Tri Lakes, Falcon and Black Forest worked to put the fire out.

The fire is now under control and did not spread into the nearby grass.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
