All lanes of I-25 south of Fountain back open after multiple wrecks

A motorcyclist has been taken by air to the hospital with serious injuries following multiple car crashes Sunday afternoon according to Colorado State Patrol.

One wreck closed I-25 southbound near Pikes Peak International Raceway near milemarker 123 for about one hour.

State troopers tell us emergency responders found three crashes when they arrived on scene around 4 p.m. In addition to the motorcycle vs. car crash there were also two separate rollover accidents.

All lanes of I-25 reopened around 6:30 p.m.

No word on how many people were hurt in the accidents.

An investigation into what caused the wrecks is underway.
