Safety fair filled with lessons for kids, safeguards for adults

A shopping center Saturday hosted a day dedicated to kids safety.

There were lots of fun activities but also important information in front of the Home Depot in the Southgate Shopping Center.

The Colorado Springs Police Department was there to offer finger printing and hand out identity kits to parents.

A crash simulator was also set up to show the importance of wearing seat belts. The son of the man running that simulator was in a crash that paralyzed him and killed two others in the car.

Another safety event is scheduled in two weeks (10/19/2013) at the same shopping center. The fire mitigation team will be there with wild land fire trucks, Sparky the dalmatian, and an air ambulance.
