Man pleads guilty in death of 5-month-old son

A Pueblo man has pleaded guilty to a charge of fatal child abuse after the death last year of his 5-month-old son.

The Pueblo Chieftain reported Thursday that 25-year-old Anthony Angel faces 16 to 25 years in prison at his sentencing hearing on Nov. 11.

Angel pleaded guilty to child abuse resulting in death. In exchange, prosecutors dropped murder and assault charges.

Angel was arrested Nov. 21 after his son, Antonio, died in an Aurora hospital.
