Woman killed in El Paso County accident

A woman was killed when she was hit by a vehicle on Highway 115 late Friday night.

The Colorado State Patrol said 75-year-old Margaret Mistry died after being hit by a vehicle about 11 miles north of Penrose.

Mistry hit a deer with her vehicle, authorities said. She got out to look at it. That is when another vehicle hit her as she crossed the road to return to her vehicle, the state patrol said.

The 67-year-old driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

The state patrol is still investigating the accident.
