Ex-preschool teacher gets 8 years for child porn

A former preschool teacher in Denver who pleaded guilty to a federal charge of distributing child pornography has been sentenced.

U.S. District Judge William Martinez sentenced 46-year-old David Moe on Tuesday to eight years in prison followed by 10 years of supervised release. Moe, a former Paddington Station teacher, also was ordered to register as a sex offender and pay $5,000 to each of the three victims who filed requests with the court.

Prosecutors say a suspected pornography file that was being offered online in 2012 was tracked to Moe’s home, and at least 800,000 images of child pornography or erotica and more than 13,000 videos were found on the man’s computer and computer media.

Prosecutors say there’s no evidence Moe produced any of the child pornography.
