Two deadly crashes involving teens reported in less than 24 hours

The Colorado State Patrol says that there have been two deadly accidents involving teenagers in eastern El Paso County in less than 24 hours.

The most recent accident happened Thursday morning, September 5, 2013, near the intersection of Calhan Highway and Funk Road.

Troopers say Tiffany Oneill, 16, of Calhan died after rolling her 1997 Chrysler convertible.

Thursday’s crash happened in the same area where another 16-year-old, identified as Jourdan Ellis of Calhan, crashed his car Wednesday night (8/4/13). Ellis was critically injured, and his 14-year-old sister, Jae Ellis was killed.

Both crashes are under investigation. Troopers say Oneill was not wearing a seat belt.

Investigators say both accidents involved single cars, driven by teenagers. They urge parents to talk to their kids about safe driving.
