Police link brothers, dad to string of bank robberies

Three people have been arrested in connection to a string of bank robberies in Colorado Springs, according to police.

Brothers Braden Butson and Nicholas Butson, and their father Brock Butson are all facing multiple charges for robbery.

Colorado Springs Police believe the Butsons are responsible for a total of seven bank robberies, and one attempted bank robbery.

Alleged crimes: Academy Bank 2835 Briargate Blvd. 4 robberies
1 attempted robbery American National Bank 3755 Briargate Blvd. 1 robbery US Bank 1125 W. Garden of the Gods Rd. 1 robbery First Bank 817 Village Center Dr. 1 robbery

The Butsons were arrested at the Travel Star Motel, 1703 S. Nevada Avenue, after spending several days under police surveillance.

Officers began watching the hotel after a possible getaway vehicle in one of the robberies was located there.

After several days of surveillance and the execution of a search warrant, police say they had probable cause to arrest the trio in connection to the robbery spree.

Police say that the FBI assisted with the investigation.
