Circle reopened after deadly wreck kills two people

Several blocks of Circle Drive were closed for several hours Sunday following a deadly wreck.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. at Ellingwood Drive. One car and one SUV were involved and at least two people inside a Toyota Corolla were killed according to the Colorado Springs Police Department.

The investigation and cleanup closed Circle from Monterey Road to Verde Drive for approximately five hours.

During the investigation it was determined that a 2008 Mercury Mariner ran off the the road and hit the Corolla that was trying to make a right onto Circle. Police said the driver of the Mercury was not injured and was charged with numerous violations.

Police have not identified the victims in the crash.
