School district employee arrested for sexual assault

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office has arrested an employee of Falcon School District 49 for sexual assault.

Tonya Harris, 34, is a food service worker in D-49. She’s accused of providing alcohol to minors and having illegal sexual contact with a 17-year-old boy.

Harris was arrested for Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust (Felony 4) and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor (Felony 4). She’s being held on a $3,000 bond.

Harris has been placed on administrative leave. The D-49 Board of Education has scheduled a meeting to terminate her employment.
