Rep. Pelosi hosts fundraisers for Romanoff, Polis

U.S. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi held a breakfast fundraiser for former Colorado House Speaker Andrew Romanoff, who is running against Republican U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman.

A Democratic state official says the fundraiser happened at a private residence in Denver Wednesday morning. No other details were available.

The 6th District race between Romanoff and Coffman is expected to be one of the closest contests next year with lots of money pouring in from both parties. Party registration in the district is split nearly evenly three ways between Democrats, Republicans and independents.

Pelosi is also hosting a fundraiser for Democratic U.S. Rep. Jared Polis Wednesday evening.

While in Colorado, Pelosi is also being honored by the Boulder County Aids Project with an award for her work on HIV in Congress.
