Hickenlooper tours flood damaged Manitou Springs

The most powerful man in Colorado went face to face with something on a whole other level…Mother Nature.

“The power of nature…it can move mountains,” said Governor John Hickenlooper as he peered into a giant hole in the middle of Old Highway 24.

For the first time, Governor Hickenlooper saw with his own eyes some of the hardest hit spots around Manitou Springs by the flash floods.

“We’re here to make sure that the Mayor and everybody in Manitou knows that the state’s with them,” Hickenlooper said.
