Group home employee accused of sexually assaulting child

A Colorado Springs woman has been arrested for sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.

Police say the alleged crime happened while Amanda Rose Santos was working at the Nevada House, which is a group home for juveniles who are in the custody of the Department of Human Services.

The male accuser told investigators that he was sexually assaulted soon after arriving at the center in December of 2012. He said he did not report it immediately because he didn’t think anyone would believe him, and he was afraid of getting in trouble.

The charge Santos is facing is a class four felony.
