Police: Transactions should be done in public

A late-night robbery in Colorado Springs prompted police to issue a warning. Police are reminding people to meet in public places if you arrange to meet a stranger to buy or sell an item listed online.

Police said a person was robbed shortly after 11:30 Sunday night on Chapman Drive. Police said the person robbed was meeting someone to sell an item listed on Craigslist.

According to police, the suspect pulled a gun on the man once he was shown the item being sold. The suspect told the man to leave while pointing the gun at the man.

The suspect is described as a black man in his early 20’s. He is approximately 5’10 and was last seen wearing a grey hooded sweat shirt.
