Lamborn employs wife for re-election campaign

Colorado Republican Rep. Doug Lamborn is paying his wife about $38 an hour to work for his re-election campaign.

The Denver Post reports Jean Lamborn has collected more than $37,000 in salary working for her husband’s campaign. The practice is allowed by the Federal Election Commission, but watchdog groups are questioning the payments.

Spokeswoman Catherine Mortensen says Jean Lamborn is a critical member of her husband’s team and is one of the most effective campaigners.
