Sex assault suspect found sleeping in accuser’s apartment

Colorado Springs Police say a sexual assault suspect was arrested after being found asleep inside his accuser’s apartment early Monday.

The call for help came in just before 1 a.m. from an apartment in the 3900 block of E. Bijou Street.

Police say a woman called 9-1-1 to report that she had been sexually assaulted, and that the man who attacked her was still in her apartment sleeping.

According to police, officers went to the apartment and spoke with both the victim and the suspect. A search warrant was executed, and police collected evidence related to the incident before arresting the man.

Luis Ramon Diaz-Hernandez was arrested and is facing a charge of sexual assault.
