Lightning strikes leave 5 hospitalized

Five people remain hospitalized following lightning strikes in Colorado and Montana.

Wellington Fire Protection District chief Gary Green said Friday two farm workers are still in the hospital and nine others were treated at local hospitals after a lightning bolt struck near them on Thursday as they tried to seek shelter in a field north of Fort Collins, Colo.

Three people injured by a lightning strike in Glacier National Park in Montana while hiking are also hospitalized.

A 65-year-old woman who was struck by lightning near a trailhead in Rocky Mountain National Park was transferred from Estes Park Medical Center to another hospital and her condition was not released.

None of the victims have been identified.
