Second Colorado lawmaker awaits recall ruling

A second Colorado lawmaker who is facing a possible recall election over gun control is awaiting a decision Tuesday on her challenge to the petition.

Democratic Sen. Angela Giron of Pueblo says a recall petition verified last month isn’t valid because the petition was improperly worded.

Democratic Senate President John Morse made the same argument in his recall petition. Morse’s argument was rejected, and a Democratic attorney has vowed to appeal.

Giron and Morse are being targeted for recall elections because they supported gun controls including ammunition magazine limits and expanded background checks.
