Woman hit by car, killed

Police are looking for a driver who hit and killed a pedestrian near the intersection of East Platte Avenue and Iowa Avenue.

Colorado Springs police told KRDO NewsChannel 13 that the woman was crossing East Platte just before 9 p.m. Wednesday when she was hit. The driver didn’t stop.

The victim has been identified as Elizabeth Marshall.

The vehicle that hit Marshall is described as a 2012 or 2013 Chevrolet Sonic, and the color is not known. The car likely has significant damage to its right front corner and may have damage to its right side, hood, windshield and top.

Colorado Springs police have released a photo of a vehicle they believe is similar to the one that hit Marshall.
