Lawyers question toxicology lab results

Colorado defense lawyers are trying to find out if problems with the state toxicology lab led to wrongful convictions.

The lawyers are gathering Monday to ask why the Colorado attorney general’s investigation of the lab took months to release.

The state attorney general found numerous problems with how the lab was being run, but the report wasn’t made public by the Colorado Department of Health until Friday, despite the fact that it had been completed in March.

According to KUSA-TV , the lab had to retest 1,700 DUI samples last year after the lab failed to follow standard procedures.
