Saturday utility work will cause delays on Fillmore Street

Utility work will impact traffic on Fillmore Street between Sage and Park streets on Saturday.

Fillmore will be down to one lane in each direction between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. Drivers are being asked to take an alternate route.

Access to businesses and homes will remain open during the construction.

The project is being funded through the Pikes Peak Rural Transportation Authority.

The PPRTA was formed when voters in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Green Mountain Falls and El Paso County approved a 1 percent sales tax in November of 2004 to address infrastructure and transit needs in the region. The tax revenue is divided into three categories: 55 percent for capital improvements (such as this project), 35 percent for maintenance, and 10 percent for transit.
