Ken Salazar to work for int’l law firm in Denver

Former U.S. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar is joining the international law firm WilmerHale as a partner. He starts work Monday in Denver, where the firm is opening its first office.

The former U.S. senator says the firm includes some of the top lawyers in the country and shares his commitment to social justice. He’ll be working on environmental, energy and tribal cases as well as giving clients strategic advice.

Salazar’s new job was first reported by The Denver Post.

WilmerHale worked for BP PLC after its oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Salazar was Interior secretary at the time and told the newspaper he will never represent BP and won’t benefit from any money the firm makes from the company.
