Powers reopens after deadly crash

A man is dead after crashing his Jeep on Powers Boulevard Monday.

The accident happened near Powers and Bradley, south of the Colorado Springs Airport.

Troopers say they received a report of a green jeep driving southbound in the northbound lanes of Powers. They tried to catch up to the vehicle, but it was too late.

Ben Buschman, 56, lost control, over-corrected, and crashed the jeep according to troopers.

Buschman was thrown from the jeep when it rolled. Troopers say he wasn’t wearing a seat belt.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Troopers haven’t determined whether alcohol played a role.
