Authorities: Woman tells deputy she shot her son
A court document says a northern Colorado woman has told a deputy she shot her 9-year-old son who was found dead in the family home.
The Steamboat Pilot & Today reported Friday the document says Lisa Marie Lesyshen spoke to a deputy at a Denver hospital where she’s being treated for a gunshot wound.
The document says Lesyshen told the deputy she shot herself and that she knows her son, Asher Lesyshen-Kirlan, is dead.
An arrest warrant affidavit says Lesyshen’s husband, Michael Kirlan, called 911 early Wednesday to report Asher had been shot in their Routt County home and that his wife had a gun and was telling him to kill her.
When deputies arrived, they found the boy dead and Lesyshen unconscious with a gunshot wound.
