Man lives with pencil in his head for 15 years

Doctors in Germany say a man spent 15 years with a pencil in his head without even knowing it.

Aachen University Hospital says the 24-year-old man from Afghanistan only sought after growing tired of suffering from chronic headaches, constant colds and worsening vision in one eye, reports The Associated Press. A scan showed that a 4-inch pencil was lodged from his sinus to his pharynx and had injured his right eye socket.

The man said he didn’t know how the pencil got there but recalled that he once fell badly as a child and the pencil could have become lodged at that time.

The pencil has now been removed and the man has recovered.
