Pueblo shuts off gas pumps for nonprofits

Pueblo is shutting off the gas pumps for nonprofit organizations at city-owned maintenance shops.

The decision comes after the Colorado Department of Revenue said it was illegal.

According to our partners at the Pueblo Chieftain, 17 local nonprofits will no longer be allowed to fill up with tax-free fuel, which allowed them to avoid an 18-cent federal gas tax and 23-cent state tax on each gallon.
