Hundreds rally for immigration reform in Denver

About 200 people are rallying in Denver for immigration reform.

They gathered at the state Capitol in the snow Wednesday morning and then began marching to a nearby park.

Tens of thousands of people are expected to rally in dozens of cities in what has become an annual cry for easing the nation’s immigration laws.

The May Day rallies carry a special sense of urgency this year, two weeks after a bipartisan group of senators introduced a bill that would bring many of the estimated 11 million living in the U.S. illegally out of the shadows.

Colorado’s rally comes just after the governor signed a bill allowing students in the country illegally to pay in-state tuition at state colleges and universities, ending a 10-year political battle.
