Prescription Drug Take-Back Day

Saturday is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day. It is a free and anonymous way to turn over pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement for destruction.

Once these medications have passed their expiration, many become unsafe to take. Also, if the pills are not destroyed, they could fall into the hands of people who use these pills for a purpose other than their intended use.

Several local Southern Colorado law enforcement agencies are taking part in the event.
