Man shot during home invasion

A man was shot during a home invasion robbery, according to Colorado Springs police.

The robbery happened at an apartment complex near the area of Bonfoy Avenue and Bijou Street at about 12:15 a.m. Friday.

Police said the victim was found lying in the doorway of his apartment suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover, according to officials.

Colorado Springs police are searching for three suspects, but they do not have a description of the robbers.

The police department’s Violent Crimes Robbery Unit is taking over the investigation.
