Man hit by motorcycle while crossing highway

A man was hit by a motorcycle while he was crossing a highway in Pueblo early Friday morning.

The accident happened around 5 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 50 and Westroads Ave.

Police say a 46-year-old man was crossing the highway in a non-cross walk area when he was hit by a motorcycle. The area of the highway was not lit.

The man and the 56-year-old motorcycle rider were both taken to the hospital. The pedestrian is in critical condition. The motorcycle rider is in good condition.

Police do not believe the motorcycle rider was speeding or under the influence of alcohol or drugs. They believe the pedestrian was under the influence of alcohol.

Police are still investigating the crash.
